Krypto Coming to Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has just launched its site for the new Krypto cartoon, debuting, Monday, April 4 at 9 am (sneak peek on March 25, I hear). Sure, it's aimed at the pre-school set, but from what I've read on the site, it looks to be a lot of fun for comics/cartoon fans too.

The cartoon stars Superman's dog, as well as Ace the Bat-Hound, Streaky, the Super-Cat (used to belong to Supergirl), and the episode guide indicates we'll be seeing Catwoman's cat, Isis (from Batman: the Animated Series!), the Penguin's pet bird, and a character named Tusky (who was Aquaman's pet walrus in the '60s cartoons).

There's references to LexCorp, Catwoman, the Joker, Robin(!) and more in the episode descriptions. Red kryptonite (which, in old comics continuity had different, unpredictable effects on Kryptonians each time they encountered it) plays a major role in the series.

The site has character descriptions, an episode guide (2 stories per episode, 26 episodes so far!) and a video of the show's opening theme. Check it out!
